Statement of Faith
- St. John Vianney Parish Community
- As followers of Jesus Christ, and as full members of the Roman Catholic Church, we, the parish community of St. John Vianney, joyfully proclaim our saviour risen. Through prayer, and sacramental celebration of life in Jesus, we join as co-creators in his mission of justice and peace, through the power of the Holy Spirit for the glory of God.

ADVENT RETREAT
All parishioners are welcome to attend an Advent Retreat on Sat. Dec. 04. The retreat will start with the 10:00 Mass followed by a reflection given by Fr. Issac. We will close the retreat with a brown bag lunch in the hall. Soup and beverages will be provided by the CWL.
There will be 1 hour of adoration before the Blessed Sacrament after the lunch. This retreat will help us to truly have the spirit of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas.

MONTH OF NOVEMBER
November is traditionally a time to remember the faithful departed and to pray for their eternal repose. Parishioners are invited to observe the month of the Poor Souls in the following ways:
Tuesday November 2
is the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, properly known as All Souls Day. A Solemn Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 7:00 pm to pray for deceased members, relatives, and benefactors of St. John Vianney Parish, especially those who have died in the past year.
November 2 – 9
The faithful who devoutly visit a cemetery and pray for the departed from 1 to 8 November, may gain a plenary indulgence for the souls in purgatory under the usual conditions of sacramental confession, Eucharistic communion and prayer for the Holy Father (at least one Our Father and Hail Mary)
Parishioners are welcome to inscribe the names of their departed loved ones in the Parish Book of Life which can be found in the foyer near the front entrance throughout the year. The faithful departed whose names are listed will be remembered in the general intercessions at the Sunday Masses in November. Please note that names recorded in previous years need not be repeated.
